Well now. This is the chance to almost guarantee safety and allow us to put everything into the remaining EC games.

If the team from the first 30 minutes last night turns up, then they beat us easily. If the team from second half last night or Arsenal does, then we win. Absolute lottery!

Really quite interested to see what he does with the line up here given it’s Liverpool on Wednesday which you have to fancy is also winnable given their mental form this season, then Palace away next weekend with another great opportunity. Who gets rested and in what game? Play it right and we are safe by next Saturday evening and a huge monkey is off our back.

Yes this one is the one we need to win and I think we will. I expect only Fabianski and Cresswell to return otherwise much as last night starters.

Games are coming thick and fast now so let's hope we don't suffer from injuries...

Fancy this will be an open game with maybe a few goals, with both sides on the up and more confident.

Can we win? Of course we fucking can, it's tin pot Bournemouth, ffs! Will we win? Absolutely no idea whatsoever, and neither does anyone else.

I really rate Bournemouth. O'Neill has got them playing some good stuff. They just lack depth of quality. But when they get their tails up they are a tough team to beat.

I'm hoping the team from the second halves against Arsenal and Gent turn up. If they don't we'll get beat. And I do think quite easily if Bournemouth are at it.

This is one of those games where because they lack depth of quality where you can win if you match the desire and intensity of them. Don't make silly mistakes and do the basics well.

I think if we turn up we'll win 1-2.

Bournemouth will attack and that probably suits the ~2020 tactics we are currently playing. I can see us conceding though, probably early as usual. A win here would make us pretty much safe so we can concentrate on these dutch cunts we got in the next round of the Euro Chump cup.

We've had nearly two decent performances in a row now and technically our form is decent (doesn't pass the eye test though) so perhaps we'll turn up. It's not on the telly though is it? We'll get 70% version of Rice then...

I see a few goals. Moyes after the first 5 mins where we try to catch them sleeping and nick an early goal which hasn't worked yet will set us up to defend deep again from the start and inevitably go behind as per usual, especially as they have no trouble scoring and our defence is questionable.

Can we come back, we showed we can.

Which leads to the next question can we out score them? That will depend how good they defend.

Going to this one. Poshing it in a box (look out for Kriss Akabusi he’ll be in there with me making some noise). Happy if we get a draw.

Must keep a clean sheet, not going to be easy against their pace!
Time for some grit and desire to be shown I reckon 37 will be safe but we shouldn’t rest on our laurels from last night; we won’t get that space against B’mouth

A win would all but see us safe.

Hopefully that’s all the motivation that the players need to show up and put in a performance.

However playing Thursday and pulling out a big win might hurt us for this one.

I’m 50/50 so I’ll go for a bore draw.

Can see a few goals too.

A last minute winner for them from someone wearing a callum Wilson mask and shirt probably

After a week where we have shown some improvement ( albeit after going behind ) and general feeling of “things feel better” is a classic predictor of things going to shite again. It’s what West Ham have done all my life time, my dads and grandads life time too so going all the way back to 1910 ;-)

some fans will believe it’s just “tin pot Bounemouth” just like it was “tin pot Brighton”’a few seasons back until they started to beat us every time we played them.

Ok Bournemouth aren’t at that level but having watched their last 2 wins on the box at Spuds and Leicester, they will be more ruthless than Gent if we give them space and time or make mistakes.

O’Neill has got this Tavener playing well and they press high and fast and give no space. That has often been our undoing. Moyes deep lying low block tactic and fast break ( his only tactic ) might work if they over commit etc

Need Antonio and I can dream that Soucek won’t start ) he will )

Tough game as they all are

Looking forward to this - they go about the game in the right way.

If they score early the pattern is we start playing and BOOM.

If its dull playing for a draw until we go behind can't someone tell the players to imagine they're a goal down at kick off?

Fingers crossed the improvement/ remembering how to play foot all con tinues

Re: ⚽ Bournemouth v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Largely agree with you Dr Matt but here’s what Moyes Will go for to start imo:

Fab
Coufal Zouma Ogbonna Cresswell
Soucek Rice
Bowen Paqueta Benrahma
Antonio

I would replace Soucek with Downes or Fornals depending on where Paqueta operates ( more advanced then it’s Downes but if more of a number 8 it’s Fornals )

Fab comes back for league games regardless of how Areola performs. He’s still a good shot stopper but cannot use his feet which Areola can. So expect the big hoofs everytime it goes back to him and from goal kicks etc

Ogbonna has performed really well so no real issue him coming back in and his experience is valuable.

Cresswell bless him is a mistake waiting to happen and will get caught for pace I suspect. Emerson’s issue is that he’s a wing back that is not good positionally when defending and not very good in the air. Got more pace though.

Solanke don’t score many but his work rate and running and closing is excellent. Philip Billing will press relentlessly as most of their lads do.

They are coached to pass and move really well so not expecting much above 30% of the ball.

Sir Alf, I’ve reread your post several times now and am pretty sure there’s no mention of Soucek. Hope all’s ok!

Areola
I’d love to see us hand out a lesson in pass and move possession football, and I’m confident these players could do it

—————-Areola

Coufal Zouma Aguerd Emerson

—————Downes

——Paqueta ——Rice

————— Fornals

—Bowen——————Antonio

Thx Forest

Good to know you’ve got my back ag, ag

Btw, while I’m here… is it the fact that Soucek in the top 5 for defensive headers and tackles and runs the most yards ( doesn’t get near the player or ball but like a stopped clock gets the time right twice a day ! )

Fear not, I shall return to this subject tomorrow. ( drifts off shaking very puzzled head )
